Featuring Fine Artists from South Dakota, Minnesota,
North Dakota, Nebraska, Wisconsin

Gloria Fredricks, an plein aire artist who paints in oil and of Life!

Newly relocated to South Dakota, Gloria has fallen under it's spell.  You'll often see her parked at the side of the road or in a field or in front of a building at her easel painting.  En Plein Aire simply means in the open air.  It was a term coined by the Impressionists.  Gloria's style of painting is rather impressionistic as she responds to the beauty she sees around her and records her impressions of the landscape!

See www.gloriafredricks.com  for more of her paintings.

For a preview of the Alliance, Nebraska show, visit:  www.gallerypleinaire.com  also the site where several artists shall participate in a "Daily Painting" event.  The work shall be priced very well and framed if you  like.  The Alliance show starts in August, and the "Daily Painting" event starts September.   Bookmark the site when there and sign up for email notifications!

Plein Aire Painting of farm "My french farm"

This painting is near Watertown but looks so much like the farms I see in rural France.

The buildings are designerd with the architectual nuances of those found in France...stuccoed exteriors, round brick silos, iron adornments...

It filled me with the desire to return and we did!  This time, however, we went to the

village where Vincent Van Gogh painted many of his fine works of art to include

the apartment, the painting with the bed and small yellow chair,  where he died.

This is from a farm outside of Watertown, South Dakota.

Remind me to tell you of the Cow Roundup I had that day!
